Teaser Tuesdays & It’s Tuesday, Where Are You? – April 28, 2009

The Last Bridge by Teri Coyne

If there was a body I lived in, I guess it was Diana’s, as hers seemed more resilient, more lovely than mine could ever be, and so in an odd way it was Diana who was carrying the baby, not me.

As I grew bigger, the reality of what was inside me expanded as well.

Specials by Scott Westerfeld

The forest thinned as Tally reached the great deserts left by the white weed. As the wind against her face became tough with airborne sand, she angled toward the sea, where her magnetics could grip the railroad line, lending her more speed.

I’m back home, a place I never wanted to go again, a place filled with memories of an abusive father and passive mother. I’m there for my mother’s funeral – and also to figure out what the enigmatic suicide note she left means.

(I haven’t started Specials yet – I picked up The Last Bridge and was totally hooked.)

I’m also in Trenton, dressed like a tramp, helping Ranger take down a member of a crime family.

Sandy – yep, me, too. I started another Stephanie Plum – wanted some more lightness before diving back in with Jamie and Claire.

Beth – so far the series is very, very good.

Kristi – I finished it last night and will be posting a review soon – it was excellent!

  5. Missy says:

I received a copy of The Last Bridge last week! I haven’t started reading it yet…I am anxious to see your review. Happy Reading!

Missy – I’m hoping to get my review posted this afternoon.

Ladytink – I’m planning to start Specials today.

Sherrie – I hope you like them as much as I did!

  9. Deanna says:

The Last Bridge sounds really good.

Off topic – I have put off reading book 6 of Jamie and Claire’s saga. Why? I do not want it to end…to end until the next book is released. I really love these books. I like reading them as I am a fast reader. Even so, I think they read well, I forgot the length.

What an intriguing teaser! I look forward to reading what you think of it 🙂

Deanna – I know what you mean about not wanting it to end! I still have three to go. I’ve read them all before, but it’s been so long ago…..

    Stacy – Thanks!

  12. Shannon says:

Trenton not normally a place I would think to have a setting of a book. Mostly because I live near there. lol

Shannon – have you ever read the Stephanie Plum series? It would be weird to read about a city that you live in, I think – hearing the street names and such. Of course, if you live in a bigger city, I suppose it happens all the time. I’m a rural girl, myself!

  14. Shannon says:

I already read Specials (and Uglies and Pretties…) They are good books, fast reading, and fun for all ages!

Shannon – I just started Specials this afternoon, but I’m afraid to get too far into it this evening, cause I really need to get some sleep tonight!
