Extras by Scott Westerfeld
The other three fell silent. Aya stood there, feeling their eyes on her, and the lenses of a hundred hovercams, and another half a million people watching through them.

Crossed Wires by Rosy Thornton
He didn’t need Trish staring at him agape to know how ridiculous it was, how absurd and nonsensical. Which Mina would surely tell him, wouldn’t she, any moment?

I’m in the future, trying to kick a story about the Sly Girls, in order to increase my face rank. (Extras)
I’m also in England, working at an insurance call center during the day, taking care of my daughter and teenage sister at night, wondering if I’ll ever have a man in my life again. (Crossed Wires)
And, I’m on a ship from Inverness, Scotland to the New World, on a journey to find my biological father, whom I’ve never met. (Drums of Autumn, Diana Gabaldon – I’m on disc 23. Two more discs to go, and then I’ll have to wait until my name comes up on the hold list again. Sigh.)

I was hoping you would “find” the lost disc! Sometimes that happens to me, as the naming of some discs are different than the others, the disc will be in a whole different place in my iPod. Sigh. Oh well. I just finished Drums and my post is up. I’m going to seriously plow through some shorter audios before I start the big, honking Fiery Cross. I figured I’d save that one for Poland. I have “Crossed Wires” sitting at the top of my stack, and will be read next.
I am yet to read any Westerfield! Gotta pick him up!
Here is my tuesday post

Sandy – I was hoping the same thing, but no luck – it’s not on my MP3 player and it’s not on my computer.
I actually wrote this post over the weekend, so as of now, I’m out of discs until my name comes up on the hold list again. I really don’t want to just skip it. i stopped on the third or fourth track fo disc 25, cause it was the beginning of a new “part,” and I’ll pick it up there when I can get disc 26. Right now I’m listening to If I Stay, and it’s fantastic – only 4 discs, it’s tiny!
Gautami – you definitely should give Westerfeld a try.
I just finished reading Uglies a few weeks back, and I really enjoyed it. I’ve already bought Pretties!
My teaser is posted here

Wow! That sounds embarrassing. Teaser
I have all Westerfields “Pretties” books and Extras on Mt. TBR, but haven’t gotten to them yet. AND I have Gabaldon’s Outlander, but I’ve not touched that either. There’s a new movie out by the same title, but I don’t know if it’s movie version of the book (It’s some kind of spaceman movie… it’s on my Netflix quieue).
As to where I am, I’m in Prague suffering through Katka (review will be posted on June 9th, and I’m not sure how blunt I’ll be… trying to be nice)… lol.
BTW…. I have an award for you In the Shadow of Mt. TBR
AND………….. You won the Great Goblins! Giveaway, so email me your address so I can get it out in the mail to ya!
I’ve got Crossed wires in my TBR pile
I haven’t read anything by Westerfeld yet, to be honest I’ve judged a couple of his books by the covers. Yes, I am a bit shallow *blush*

Kerri – I’ve enjoyed them all so far. it took a while for Extras to grab me because it’s about different characters, but I’m enjoying it now.
Bluestocking – I’ll be sure to check out your teaser.
Kool-aid Mom – how cool – I am so excited to hand that book to my boys, I think they will love it! And thanks for the award, too.
Ladybug – I’m like that about covers, too – if I don’t like a cover it will turn me off, unless the book is really recommended to me.
Urgh! I really do need to finish reading the Uglies series…

Ladytink – I am really enjoying Extras – more than I thought I would. At first, I missed Tally, but Aya is a great character, too, and the plot is intriguing.
