Teaser Tuesdays – June 16, 2009
Posted By CarrieK on June 16, 2009
I’m actually in between books at the moment, having just finished Tess of the D’Urbervilles and The Forest of Hands and Teeth – reviews coming soon. I plan to start the following two books today, hopefully:

The Wet Nurse’s Tale by Eric Eisdorfer
At this time, Reader, it seemed to me that I’d lost my way. Joey was dead, my earnings diminished, my life seemed to have got a deal smaller in a short while.

The Book of Unholy Mischief by Elle Newmark
A maid leaned over Landucci’s shoulder to refill his glass. She had, of course, heard the account of his double murder and, finding herself so close to the murderer, she began to tremble.

The first teaser was good, but I love the second one. I’ll be adding both on my TBR list. Great teasers!

“His double murder” sounded weird to me, as if he’d been the victim as opposed to the perpetrator!
Wow! Both of these have teased me! Thay both sound great.
I absolutely love these teasers, both of them! I would definitely love to read these books. Though I confess that the title of the second one alone would have caught me, even if the teaser wasn’t so good.
My own teasers are at Bookishgal.
“Between” books? As in, not currently reading anything? I don’t think I understand
.
I’ve read several reviews on amazon for Unholy Mischief, which sounds like a fascinating story. BTW, how did you like Tess? I’ve read it twice, and it really impressed me both times.
Popin – Book of Unholy Mischief is good so far – I read a few chapters poolside this afternoon.
Avis- I agree, it’s kind of an awkward sentence.
Stacy – I hope they are good – I’ve been on a good reads roll. Whenever that happens, I wonder how long till the next clunker.
Phyl – It is a great title!
Jen – I know, it doesn’t happen very often. Actually, I forgot that I’m reading a kids’ title (Alibi Jr. High) with my daughter – we’re going to do a joint review. No baby, yet?
Kool-Aid – My review of Tess is going up this evening. I thought it was beautifully written and terribly sad.
I loved both of your teasers!
Both teasers sound tempting, especially the second one. It could have something to do with the fact that I have that one on my TBR shelf waiting its turn.
Ladybug – thanks!
LF – It’s great so far – I hope to find some more reading time this afternoon.
Fantastic teasers!
