Summer Reading Challenge 2009

summerreadingchallenge2009Janie at Seasonal Soundings is hosting the 2009 Summer Reading Challenge – and I am so excited to participate! Janie used to host challenges for every season, but since she started teaching full-time, her challenges have been on hiatus – until now. The Spring Reading Thing Challenge helped me keep my reading focused, complete some of my challenge books, and manage my ARC/review commitments. I’m hoping this summer challenge will do the same.

For ARC and review commitments:
~ Finish The Wet Nurse’s Tale by Erica Eisdorfer
~ Finish The Book of Unholy Mischief by Elle Newmark
~ The Actor and the Housewife by Shannon Hale
~ Scottsboro by Ellen Feldman
~ Sacred Hearts by Sarah Dunant

For the Audiobook Challenge and the Outlander Challenge:
~ Finish Drums of Autumn by Diana Gabaldon
~ Finish Life of Pi by Yann Martel
~ Start The Fiery Cross by Diana Gabaldon (I won’t kid myself that I can finish this – it’s 47 discs long!)

For the Art History Reading Challenge:
~ Luncheon of the Boating Party by Susan Vreeland

For the Graphic Novels Challenge:
~ White: The Great Pursuit by Ted Dekker, Matt Hansen, & Bob Strachan

For the TBR and Classics Challenges:
~ Finish Death Comes for the Archbishop by Willa Cather
~ Wives and Daughters by Elizabeth Gaskell

For spiritual enrichment:
~ Finish Future Men by Douglas Wilson
~ Transforming Grace by Jerry Bridges

Who knows if I’ll be able to finish all of these, but I’ll have fun trying!
