Northanger Abby is my least favorite Austen, too. I just got the Hunger Games from the library on Tuesday (it was a looooong wait). So I’ll be reading it very soon.

Kool-Aid Mom – OK, comparing Eliot to Hardy makes me want to put it further down on the list!:) I enjoyed Tess of the D’Urbervilles, but the overly flowery language got old after a bit.

This was a fun meme to read.

The Hunger Games is a fantastic book. My 11 yo just finished reading this book and she loved it.

I just saw From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil on my bookshelf. I plan on reading it. My older daughter read it several years back and really enjoyed the book.

Austen, all the way… trust me on that. Eliot is like reading the ingredients on the shampoo bottle, only not as exciting. LOL… well, IDK… If you liked Emma, you might like Eliot. Actually, Thomas Hardy and Eliot read a lot a like, I thought. I haven’t read Middlemarch yet, it’s also on my TBR pile.

I agree with you on Russian epics. It’s a lot to keep up with the character’s names and nicknames.
