Bookish links for Saturday, July 11, 2009 (but, first, a winner)

First things first: the winner of the Jonas Brothers 3D Concert Experience DVD is Tammy! Congratulations.
I’ll e-mail you for your mailing address, and put the DVD in the mail this week.
Sorry the links post is late again this week. I usually put it together on Friday evening, but I spent this Friday at a mother-daughter camp-out with my Natalie and 10 other tween-aged girls and their moms. It was a lot of fun. I didn’t stay all night, but still came home too late and exhausted to write up a post. Lots of links, though, so here goes:
Author links:
~ Rebecca at The Book Lady’s Blog has a post by Eve Brown-Waite, author of First Comes Love, Then Comes Malaria: On Post-Publication Depression.
~ Alice Hoffman, take note: This is a much funnier – and more classy – way to deal with negative reviews:

Other bookish links:

Thanks for the Newsweek link. I had come across another Newsweek book list recently that was a major disappointment, but this one is much more encouraging. I can’t argue with War and Peace or The Sound and the Fury!
Bonnie´s last blog ..Quick Review: The Horse and His Boy, by C.S. Lewis
Thanks for the link, Carrie!

This is a nice post. I like how you are pointing people in directions of different interests. Thank you for posting my contest as well.
I like your blog!
Sheila DeChantal´s last blog ..Morning Meanderings (sort of…)
Wow, that is some linking going on here. Awesome! Thanks so much for mentioning my giveaways. As always, I appreciate it.

Drea – I’m really looking forward to it!
Bonnie – It seems they’ve combined a bunch of different lists to come up with that one. It never fails, though, that something I hate is one a list of the “100 must-reads” and something I love isn’t there.
Lezlie and Sheila – You’re welcome.
Dar – lots of links, as always – and you’re welcome!
