I am sad to say I’m still making my way through Scottsboro by Ellen Feldman and To the Nines by Janet Evanovich. A crazy-busy weekend of visiting with my sister, capped off by a Tae Kwon Do tournament, and then a bout with the stomach flu has made for very little time to read. Instead of giving you yet one more teaser from the same books, I decided to use the next two books from my ARC/review commitment pile.
Sacred Hearts
She purses her lips as if she knows she should not talk, but the opportunity for gossip, or maybe the taste of revenge, is too much for her. “Suora Magdalena. The way she keeps asking after you.”
The Promised World
He had to keep reminding himself of how important this was, because Mommy kept saying she was worried. He knew this was why she kept taking him to places he didn’t like where another new grown-up wanted to talk to him about the Challenges, and how he felt about his daddy, and how he felt about everything.
They both sound great, don’t they? Now I’m more anxious than ever to make some progress in my reading!
