Whatcha Watchin’? Wednesday: Scrubs, Season 8

Posted By CarrieK on September 2, 2009

whatyouwatch2Whatcha Watchin’? Wednesday is a weekly feature in which I talk about the TV we’re watching, either on DVD or on cable. Feel free to grab the graphic, join in, and play along – just leave a link to your post in the comments.

scrubs8Enjoy every surreal moment of Scrubs’ hilarious eighth season as television’s celebrated sitcom delivers “much more loopy, creative humor that fans have come to know and love” raves Chicago Tribune.

It’s a different world for attending physicians J.D., Turk and Elliot as they have their own interns to confuse and bewilder, and a major shakeup in the hospital staff might be enough to finally unite Dr. Kelso and Dr. Cox. Get a big shot of comedy as your favorite characters, and some exciting guest stars (including Courtney Cox), return for a hilarious new year at Sacred Heart.

The best way to enjoy the contagious comedy of The Complete Eighth Season is on DVD, featuring exclusive bonus features – including deleted scenes, bloopers and webisodes. It’s just what the doctor ordered.

Kevin and I have been Scrubs fans since it began airing and we loved the first season. Then we didn’t have cable or satellite for a while, and lost track. Last year, we had a Scrubs marathon, starting over with the first season and watching all the way through season seven.

I was wondering what season eight would be like, since the show had been moved from NBC to ABC, but I needn’t have worried – it’s just the same crazy, over-the-top, make you laugh until you snort series. I love the relationships in this series: J.D. and Turk, J.D. and Elliot, Turk and Carla. This series also uses music in the most creative and humorous ways.

Thanks to YouTube, here are a few of our favorite scenes:

I LOOOOOOVE Dr. Cox & Scrubs! Great TV! And I’m not at all a TV watcher. I watch NBA basketball and DVD’s of Scrubs and Northern Exposure.

Lezlie – We love Northern Exposure, too! And I love watching Scrubs when I’m stressed out – nothing like a belly laugh to relieve anxiety. :)

  2. Book Psmith says:

I love this show. I always forget to watch the new episodes, so I catch reruns late at night. It never fails to make me laugh like a loon.

  3. I’ve never actually seen Scrubs, can you believe it? Admittedly, I’m not a huge sitcom fan though. I tend to prefer dramas. I see that Glee started up tonight. Hubby and I recorded it. We saw the episode when it aired this past summer but it wouldn’t hurt to watch it again. We tend to record all the television shows we watch during the regular season so we can skip the commercials.

On DVD, we just finished watching the 2nd season of Supernatural.

Wendy – I am so excited for Glee! I’m glad the episode this week was just the premiere and we didn’t miss anything new. We watch a lot of TV on video, too – my husband hates commercials! I really wanted to watch Supernatural, cause I love the actors, but I’m too much of a fraidy-cat. :)
