I am feeling seriously in need of a weekend of alone time and non-stop reading. It’s not likely to happen anytime soon, though. I am hoping to participate in the upcoming 24-hour read-a-thon in October, but it will likely be snatched reading time amid the normalcy of life with a husband and four kids. If we had the money, I’d give my husband a night away in a hotel by himself. That way I could do the same thing for the read-a-thon and not feel guilty. 🙂
I’m currently reading The Magicians by Lev Grossman, which is very good – so far it reminds me of a cross between Harry Potter and Brideshead Revisited.
I am also reading The Deep End of the Ocean by Jacquelyn Mitchard. This wasn’t in my plans, but I found out the review book I was sent, No Time to Wave Goodbye, is a sequel to The Deep End of the Ocean, and I hate reading sequels without having read the first book. It’s very good so far.
What are you reading this last weekend of September?
