Teaser Tuesdays – December 15, 2009

I’m currently reading three very different books, giving me three very different teasers to share with you.

Like the question mark, the exclamation mark is a relatively modern bit of punctuation, pogo-sticking its way into text during the seventeenth century. It’s also been called a “bang,” a “screamer,” and other names too filthy to print.
Now and Then
In order for him to fit in as well as possible with the people in general, he decided that the best thing to do here was not to take sides, because even someone who had faked reading his history book could see that the Irish and the English had some smackdown problems with each other. He wished he could tell the Irish that everything was going to turn out OK for them, that they’d get to be their own independent country again someday.
The Knife of Never Letting Go
“Ben said that they came to this world for the simpler life, and that there was even a fight in the early days whether to destroy the fission generators.”
Viola looks horrified. “You would have all died.”
