Wounded by Claudia Mair Burney

She’d filled her bag with an impressive stock of prayer candles and religious sundries: holy cards, scapulars, medals, all kinds of stuff. Veronica had gone completely Roman Catholic on me overnight.

She didn’t like boys who looked as if they never got mad about anything. In Isabelle’s world, rage equaled passion equaled a good time.

That series of Clare’s has been hovering around my daughter’s line of sight. Do you think they are appropriate for a 12-year-old? I’ve seen good reviews on them.

Sandy – my 13yo is reading them, but it does skew more toward the YA side of things – one character is a homosexual, and there is an implied relationship between him and another character. There is also violence involving vampires and demons. So, I guess it would depend on where you drawn your boundaries for her – you might want to give them a read first.
