Movie Meme

I saw this movie meme at a new-to-me blog, Wordsmithonia, and there hasn’t been a lot of movie-related content lately, and since my blog title is Books AND Movies…

Name a film that you have seen more than 10 times.

Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and Home Alone

Name a film that you’ve seen multiple times in the cinema.

~blushes~ Top Gun – I was a freshman in high school, and my friends and I had mondo crushes on Tom Cruise.

Name an actor that would make you more inclined to see a film.

Sean Bean, Hugh Jackman, Richard Armitage, Christian Bale

Name an actor that would make you less likely to see a film.

Dane Cook

Name a film that you can and do quote from.

Joe vs. the Volcano – totally under-rated Tom Hanks/Meg Ryan comedy. My sisters and I always use the line, “I have no response to that.” Oh and the “yes, yes, yes” “no, no, no” scene in Singing in the Rain, with the voices getting appropriately slow and garbled.

Name a film musical that you know all of the lyrics to all of the songs.

Seven Brides for Seven Brothers – see above. :)

Name a film that you would recommend everyone see.

Going with a couple that most people haven’t heard of: The Maiden Heist, starring Morgan Freeman, William H. Macy, and Christopher Walken; and Son of Rambow.

Ever walked out of a film?

Stone Cold, starring Brian Bosworth – my best guy friend at the time wanted to see it, but after 20 minutes, he suggested we take off.

Name a film that made you cry in the cinema.

I cry at movies all the time – I cry at even the movies that make no one else cry. Last one? Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief. Told you, I’m a sap.

Popcorn?

I’ll echo Ryan’s answer: “The more butter the better.”

How often do you go to the cinema (as opposed to renting them or watching them at home)?

About twice a month.

What’s the last film you saw in the cinema?

The Lightning Thief

What’s your favourite/preferred genre of film?

I like pretty much everything except horror movies, so it’s hard to pick, but I really love a good comedy that will make me laugh hard enough to snort.

What’s the first film you remember seeing in the cinema?

The Empire Strikes Back

What film do you wish you had never seen?

Can’t think of any.

What is the scariest film you’ve seen?

I don’t really like scary movies, so the ones that scared me were pretty wimpy compared to some: I Am Legend and The Silence of the Lambs.

If you could be any character portrayed in a movie, who would it be?

Any character who gets to kiss Hugh Jackman, Sean Bean, Richard Armitage, or Christian Bale.

Total number of films you own on DVD and video.

I don’t know – a hundred or so. Mostly kids’ movies.

Last film you bought.

Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs

Last film you watched.

I’m watching Bandslam with my 13-year-old daughter right now while doing this meme.

Five films that mean a lot to you.

Sleepless in Seattle
Schindler’s List
LOTR: Fellowship of the Ring
LOTR: The Two Towers
LOTR: Return of the King

And, just because I know Tasha likes to drool:

I can sort of feel you on the Joe vs. the Volcano movie, it’s not as bad as a lot of people say. My favorite Christian Bale movie is American Psycho.

Ryan – I’ve actually never seen American Psycho – I’m kind of a chicken when it comes to slasher films.

Melissa – I grew up with three sisters and we were all obsessed by musicals! And of course, the fact that the movie had seven handsome singers/actors didn’t hurt, either! We all had our favorites – mine was Benjamin. :P

Oh my goodness, Christian Bale is one of my favorites!
