Linger by Maggie Stiefvater (audiobook): As good as the first; how long till book three?
Lies by Michael Grant (read-aloud to the kids): Page-turning dystopian fiction with truly evil villains, authentic characters/dilemmas.
Feed by M.T. Anderson: Terrifying vision of the future, protagonist’s voice a tad annoying.
Paranormalcy by Kiersten White: Fun beginning to new paranormal series, unique premise, great heroine.
Arcadia Falls by Carol Goodman: Gothic mystery set in fine arts school; atmospheric, riveting, excellent.
The Night Bookmobile by Audrey Niffenegger: Ode to the love of books, bit of cautionary tale.
The Exile: An Outlander Graphic Novel by Diana Gabaldon and Hoang Nguyen: Disappointing, artwork just okay, though Jamie’s bum is quite yummy.
Wicked Appetite by Janet Evanovich (audiobook): New character, familiar plotline, no Ranger or Morelli. Just okay.
How to Breathe Underwater by Julie Orringer: Extraordinary short fiction, an author to watch, couldn’t get enough.

No Ranger or Morelli? How sad, I’m eagerly anticipating the Plum movie.
Great idea to do mini reviews like this

Ladybug – well, Wicked Appetite technically isn’t a Stephanie Plum novel, but it seemed like one with just another main character. And even though I love Diesel, with no Ranger or Morelli, I was just bored.
What a fun way to do reviews, but it might take me longer because I’d be stressing over what ten words to include. I really want to read The Night Bookmobile.

Kathy – it did take longer than I thought it would!
I agree with Kathy, short reviews are hard, so this is awesome! The haiku at the top of my post can take me almost as long to write as the whole rest of the thing.

I love this format. What a great idea to get caught up on reviews. I might “steal’ this from you sometime!

Kathleen – feel free to steal! I just kept getting stressed out seeing all those draft posts sitting there, waiting to be finished. Decided I needed a fresh start.

Love this idea for reviews. I have The Exile, but have been putting it off, afraid it won’t measure up to what I’ve imagined.

Wendy – it won’t measure up, unfortunately. There’s just no way to measure up to a book like Outlander!
How to breathe underwater sounds like a book to grab .. love your 10 word reviews !

Vasilly – thanks – I’ll admit it was very freeing to clear out all those draft posts and start fresh!
Umm…I need to do this and try to catch up myself. What a great way to get your thoughts across in a clear and concise manner. And I’m super excited to hear that you enjoyed Arcadia Falls as much as I did. I can’t wait to read more by this author!

Great way to catch up, Carrie! I don’t read enough to do something like this, unfortunately. I’d have nothing to blog about for a couple of months. LOL I’ll have to look for Orringer’s book. It sounds great.
