I had every intention of writing a lengthy and chatty Sunday Salon post (I love reading Sandy’s posts every Sunday), but am now out of time. So here’s a quick bullet list before I head south to my folks’ house to watch the Seahawks game (it’s being recorded, so don’t tell me anything!) and the Golden Globes tonight.
~ Tomorrow, Josiah and I are heading to Spokane where an oral surgeon will be removing two of his permanent teeth that haven’t erupted yet. Poor kid has my tiny mouth. He’s not looking forward to it – and neither am I.
~ The rest of the week will be the usual whirlwind of voice lessons, guitar lessons, Tae Kwon Do, science class, etc.
~ I’m still doling out Certain Women and Waiting for Columbus one chapter at a time, but it’s becoming increasingly difficult as they are both fantastic reads. I have a feeling I’m going to throw caution to the wind and devour them both in the next couple of days. Hopefully they will still be fresh in my mind for discussion at the end of the month.
~ Finished What My Best Friend Did by Lucy Dawson, which was fantastic. Also, this morning while doing dishes I finished Inkspell on audio. I am so disappointed that Brendan Fraser doesn’t read book three.
~ Started David Nicholls’ Starter for Ten last night – only a few pages in, but very funny so far.
~ Still reading Changing My Mind: Occasional Essays by Zadie Smith. I’m finding this collection hit and miss – some are brilliant and I love them; I find myself having to force may way through others. Some very wonderful quotes from an essay on her writing process will appear here on the blog soon.
And, that’s all for now. (And look how chatty I can be when I’m not worried about being chatty! LOL) I’m off to cheer on the Seahawks and critique the evening gowns on the Golden Globes – and root for Colin Firth, of course!
Happy Sunday.

Poor Josiah! I hope all goes well for him. I hope your team wins and you have a great week!

Kathy – thanks.
Josiah did just fine. The Seahawks lost, but that’s really not a surprise.
Best of luck to Josiah. And just read those books, we are waiting for reviews you know!

I finished one read for discussion starting next week, and yesterday I was debating about starting Certain Women or getting back to Middlemarch for a bit first. I picked Middlemarch, but glad to hear Certain Women is a good one!

You are so sweet to mention my insane ramblings! But you are right, these Sunday chatty posts are the easiest to write. I wish reviews were this easy. Go Colin! Go Colin!

Sandy – Maybe if I didn’t worry about my reviews so much and just chatted about the book. Only I’m afraid if I did that, it would end up saying, “just read it – it’s really, really good! ” LOL

So sorry about the dentist. Ugh. You wrote: “I finished Inkspell on audio. I am so disappointed that Brendan Fraser doesn’t read book three.” I know exactly what you mean. Fraser made me fall in love with Dustfinger.
