February is already more than half over; March will be here before we know it. I hope that many of you are planning to join me for the March read-along of Tana French’s Faithful Place. (Updated to add: a commenter mentioned that this book reads like a stand-alone. The first book by French, In the Woods, isn’t referenced at all, and the second book, The Likeness, is barely mentioned, so you don’t need be hesitant to read this if you haven’t read the other two.)
Week One (3/1-3/7): Chapters 1-6
Week Two (3/8-3/14): Chapters 7-12
Week Three (3/15-3/21): Chapters 13-18
Week Four (3/22-3/28): Chapters 19-23
Weekly Post Schedule:
Week One’s reading: March 10th
Week Two’s reading: March 17th
Week Three’s reading: March 24th
Week Four’s reading and wrap-up post or review: March 31st
Each week on the post date, I will post my thoughts on the past week’s reading and also a Mr. Linky for you to add the link to your weekly post. Obviously, the weekly posting is optional – I want this to be fun. If you want to write up a post and link it, do so. If not, don’t – but do read some of the other participant’s posts and leave comments. The conversation is the fun part!
Since the book that received the most votes is part of a series, I know that may prevent some of you from joining us. The votes between Faithful Place and Brooklyn by Colm Toibin were neck and neck until the last couple of days, when French’s book pulled ahead. Obviously, a lot of us also want to read the Toibin, so I decided to host a second Ireland Challenge read-along. I haven’t decided what month, though I am leaning toward July, August, or September. If you’re interested in joining me in reading Brooklyn, and have a strong opinion about which month will work best for you, could you please leave a comment and let me know?
