Completed: Buy One Book Challenge

Challenge host: My Friend Amy
Challenge time frame: January 1, 2011 through December 31, 2011
Challenge commitment: 12 books

Level Two–Buy one book and read it every month
You don’t have to buy a book in January and read it in January, but you must buy 12 books that you also go on to read during the year. This level is ideal for book bloggers notorious for the buying part, but not so much the reading part.

Hee hee, this is the opposite of a challenge I could allow myself to take!! I have forced myself to stop buying books in recent years and only buy them as special gifts to myself now. I also stopped asking for books to review as I had a long list at one time. Now I just wait for them to come and slot them in to my to-read list. I did undertake to read one book a week this year. I have fallen behind because some books take longer but the point is that I have been reading every day and that makes me happy!

Emm – reading every day is awesome, no matter where the books come from! I do get a lot of books free for review, but also think it’s important to support authors buy purchasing books new, if at all possible. Not everyone can do that – in fact, I’m in a different position now than I was when I bought these books, as my husband was laid off. But hopefully things will improve and I’ll be able to buy a few here and there again!

Wow you are really committed. I’ve bought, just not read everything. I think I bought twenty seven books , and have only read two or three. Oops.
