I have to admit that my first reaction was not positive. Talk amongst yourselves.

Hmmm. Heigl is really NOT the right person to play Stephanie Plum. She is way too sophisticated. The rest of the casting works for me though.

Sandy – I know! Part of what made me love Stephanie in that first book is that she wasn’t sure of herself, she didn’t know if she could do the job or not, but she really felt like that was her last choice. That vulnerability and ineptness made for such humor – something I don’t see in the trailer. Plus, the guy playing Ranger has too open, too friendly of a face – he doesn’t pull of the mysteriousness. (Even though I think he’s gorgeous and love him on Grey’s Anatomy.)

I agree 100%. It’s not working for me. Heigl just isn’t the right fit, in my opinion. And I agree about the guy playing Ranger … he’s not at ALL what I imagine when I think of Ranger. I’m just not so sure that I’m going to love this one. Which is unfortunate .. I was hoping they’d prove me & my reservations about casting wrong!

Amy – I haven’t been happy from the day I heard she was being cast, but, like you, I hoped they would prove me wrong. I’ll still probably see it, but the trailer has set the bar of my expectations pretty low.
I am still not convince by Katherine Heigl as Stephanie, nor am I convinced with Morelli. Ranger is good though, or at least closer to my own imagry of Ranger. The rest of the cast is okay though.

Zia – I don’t think that Grandma Mazur looks old enough – but she can probably pull off the character.
I agree, she looks too young, but she’s got the right sassiness for her.

I haven’t been in ages-I love the new look, which probably isn’t so new now. I have mixed emotions about this movie. She who shall not be named was a little better then I thought she’d be. I liked everyone else…am going to drag myself to the movie if only so I can make fun she who shall not be named accurately.
