DVD Review: Prep & Landing

Disney presents Prep & Landing, a spirited comic adventure, bound to become a holiday tradition at your home for years to come – complete with two bonus stocking stuffer shorts!

On Christmas Eve, a high-tech team of elves from an elite unit known as “Prep & Landing” ensures homes around the world are prepared for Santa’s visit. But after working tirelessly for 227 years, an elf named Wayne is upset when he doesn’t receive a promotion to be Director of Naughty List Intelligence. Instead, he is partnered with Lanny, an idealistic rookie. During their mission, Wayne and Lanny encounter unexpected challenges that push them to their limits and threaten Christmas for children everywhere. Now it’s going to take a great big effort from two mismatched little elves to save the season!

The boys and I watched Prep & Landing while eating pizza tonight, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We have recently been watching Discovery Channel’s Surviving the Cut on Netflix, which is a show that follows military personnel as they train for the special forces of each branch of the military. Because of that, the idea of an elite force of elves tickled our funny bones, especially the short training feature.

This DVD includes the original half-hour Prep & Landing special, plus a sequel called Operation: Secret Santa that features Betty White as the voice of Mrs. Claus. Also included are a short called Tiny’s Big Adventure, “Kringle Academy” training videos, and some hysterical North Pole commercials that especially had us giggling.

Disclosure: I received a DVD copy of Prep & Landing from Click Communications for the purpose of review.
