When Sid accidentally destroys Manny’s heirloom Christmas rock and ends up on Santa’s “naughty list,” he leads a hilarious quest to the North Pole to make things right – and ends up making things much worse. Now it’s up to Manny and his prehistoric posse to band together and save Christmas for the entire world!
After the disaster that was the Shrek holiday special, I was concerned that the Ice Age one would be just as ridiculous. Fortunately, that wasn’t the case – it had a lot of heart, and was hilarious. I haven’t heard my boys laugh that hard in a long time. I love the fact that they haven’t grown out of their love of the Ice Age characters. 🙂
Here’s what the boys had to say:
Noah, age 13: Anybody who loves the Ice Age movies will love this Christmas special. I think it is probably the funniest Ice Age they’ve come out with so far. 5 stars.
Jonathan, age 12: I liked the part when they were having the snowball fight. It was really funny. Sid was the funniest because of the things he said. 5 stars.
Josiah, age 10: Sid put an ice star on the Christmas tree, accidentally pulled it back, and shot the ice star flying. It hit the Christmas rock and shattered it. My favorite part, and in my opinion, the funniest part, was when Diego was telling Manny about Diego’s Christmas. He said, “On my Christmas, my grandpa brings home the biggest and juiciest gazelles and we would all jump onto them and rip into their…” Manny looks at Diego, then looks at Peaches (his daughter), and she was terrified. Then Diego changed the sentence to, “….rip into their presents and play games and dance with them. The End.” 5 stars.
Ice Age: A Mammoth Christmas Special is available now on DVD. It also includes a sneak preview of the new Ice Age: Continental Drfit movie that’s coming out in 2012, and the mini-sloth choir’s music video, “Swingin’ Jingle Bells.”
Disclosure: I received Ice Age: A Mammoth Christmas Special from Think Jam for the purpose of review.
