I am interested to see how The Book Thief adaptation goes to. It is such a beloved book that it might be a disaster if they get it wrong!
And yay for finally being able to see Tomorrow When the War Began. I thought it was a pretty good adaptation.

Marg – I just have to find the money to buy it. I was hoping Netflix would have it, but they don’t yet.
I really need to get around to actually reading The Book Thief…

I didn’t realize they made a tv version of When the War Began. I’ll have to go look it up.

Debbie – it was actually a movie, produced in Australia. It came out on Blu-ray and Australia region DVD, but not US region and I don’t have a Blu-ray player! So I’m very happy that it is finally out on regular DVD here. According to their Facebook page, they’re currently working on the script for the second film in the series.
I’ll be interested to see how they translate The Book Thief to film as well. I loved the book and really hope that the movie does it justice.
