The Sunday Salon – December 23, 2012

sundaysalon2This has been a wonderful week, and the kids are counting the days down until Christmas. No school this week meant more time to read, play board games, and blog. Aside from normal housework, laundry, and shopping, the week consisted of mostly fun activities, with Friday being a whole day of parties. We spent the afternoon with Michelle and her family, eating wonderful food and visiting while the kids played board games. Then Friday night, Kevin and the kids went to a Christmas party at youth group and I played cards with Mom and Dad and some friends.

Today will consist of church, reading, and watching football. The Seahawks have been on fire lately, and I am really hoping their streak continues with their game against the 49ers tonight. My reading will be from Stay by Allie Larkin; Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card; and Beautiful Redemption by Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl. If I have time, I’ll work on the last two of my favorites posts (speculative fiction and audiobooks) and my end-of-year reading stats post.

I probably won’t be online much Monday and Tuesday. Monday will consist of last-minute prep and a Christmas Eve service. And Tuesday, well, Tuesday is Christmas! I hope all of you who are celebrating have a joyous, blessed holiday. :)

Mostly reading today and football here. Unfortunately, I’m ending up playing for third in both of the fantasy football leagues in which I participate, but at least, it’s not for money. Still disappointing though.

Bryan – I only follow the Seahawks until playoffs, so I don’t think I’d be very good at fantasy football.

We have bad weather coming in today, so after church we’ll stay close to home and read, read, read…maybe take a nap as well :p Actually I know we’ll take a nap. :)
    Have a wonderful Christmas!

It’s been a quiet day for me here, and planning to spend some days in the week ahead with grandkids out on school vacation.

Looking forward to seeing some movies, too.

I’m off to check some of your links!
