Well, crap.

Remember that job I was telling you about – the one Kevin was starting training for this week? Well, today, he went through his first day of training – and while he was out (learning how to drive a transport vehicle for the disabled), the company found out that they were losing their contract to provide transport services in our area. The job disappeared, just like that, even while Kevin was training for it. As you can imagine, he’s very discouraged – as am I. If you are the praying sort, we would love prayers that he finds something else very soon.

    Oh no. How disappointing.

Fingers crossed that something else comes up soon.

  4. How awful, both for Kevin AND for those in the community who could have benefitted! Sending hope for something new!

Rhapsodyinbooks – well, the service will still be there, it’s just that the state is contracting with a different company. Kevin’s going to get in touch with that company today and see if they have any openings.

Well, MAYBE (maybe) since this company hired him for this job, they will consider him for another? I don’t know, I just wish things would turn your way. And I know they will eventually. Will pray double time.

Sandy – they don’t have anything in our area right now – he would have to drive hours to get to the place they need drivers. Wouldn’t make sense. He has a couple other possibilities that came up today, though, and he’s looking into them. Thanks for the prayers!

I don’t like this word, but can’t think of a better way to express my feelings – that sucks. I’m praying for y’all.

I wish I could wave my magic wand and make everything all right for you and Kevin. Offering prayers instead. One of my favorite songs is “Hold out, hold up, and hold on.”

I’m so very sorry to hear this. The job market is unlike anything I’ve ever seen … I’ve been out of work for 7 months, so I can empathize with the disappointment. I’ll definitely keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Thanks, Melissa – it is crazy how long he’s been out of work! I know there’s something out there, but waiting is not easy.
