Place: In the living room. The house is quiet for the first time all day, since I chased the kids and their friends out now that it has cooled down. It’s been hot here all week – in the 90′s – so they’ve been spending a lot of time inside, and our house seems to be the one where everyone gathers. Which is good – I like knowing what they’re up to – but after awhile the noise can be a bit much.
Reading: Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett; The Cradle by Patrick Somerville; Girls in Trucks by Katie Crouch
Recently finished reading: Middlemarch by George Eliot; Paradigm by Helen Stringer; The Curiosity by Stephen P. Kiernan – all three were five-star reads. It was a FANTASTIC reading week.
Listening to: Requiem by Lauren Oliver
Recently finished listening to: The Life List by Lori Nelson Spielman
Thankful for: For the fact that Kevin is enjoying his job a bit more and also getting some work for his side business, which really helps financially. For a week of fantastic reading – and time to enjoy it, since we are on summer break. For two long visits with my best friend this week.
I hope you are all enjoying your weekend and staying cool! What are you reading these days?
