Weekend Update

Okay, so I wasn’t going to post any more of these here because Kevin has been working on the new site, but it’s not ready yet, because we’ve both been so busy. So here I am!

The latest:

~ We got our tax refund back and took our annual weekend getaway. It was heaven. We’ve also been doing some fun things with the kids and I have gone really crazy and bought new socks and underwear for the entire family! Oh, and I went to Barnes & Noble and bought three books: The Vacationers by Emma Straub, I Was Here by Gayle Forman, and All the Truth That’s In Me by Julie Berry.

~ I am not going to talk about that football game last week.

~ I had a Walking Dead marathon day with my friend Traci yesterday; we watched all eight of this season’s already-aired episodes. It was so much fun, although I did dream about zombies last night.

~ I have been very busy with camp stuff and kid stuff and have not had nearly enough time to read. I did finish Authority (not as good as Annihilation, but still compelling), and An Unnecessary Woman, which was freaking amazing.

~ Watched three movies with Kevin over the weekend: Fury – horrible; This Is Where I Leave You – entertaining, but not great; and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes – horrible.

~ Noah got a job at the local Zips. He is enjoying it so far.

That’s really all the news I have time for. I know it’s not much of an update, but I’m exhausted and really want to read while I can still keep my eyes open. I’ve been missing your blogs, and am hoping to get caught up on your weekend/currently/salon posts in the next couple of days. šŸ™‚

I keep expecting things to look different when I come here. LOL. Too bad on the movie choices — we have also been watching some duds lately.

Candace – Ah, I wish we had the new site ready to roll out, but life has been nuts.

Yay for new socks and underwear! lol Sounds like things have been going well. I hope you get some reading time in. šŸ™‚

  3. Yay! New socks and underwear! šŸ™‚ Seriously, though, nothing wrong with that. Speaking of socks, mine are getting pretty worn right now…and glad you and Kevin were able to get away.

    What game?

Hmmm. I wanted to see Fury, but not now. Don’t think any less of me but I actually liked Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. šŸ™‚

Wow, we haven’t even thought of starting our tax returns. I dread it.

I can’t wait to see your new site! Granted, I’m a sucker for redesigns anyway. Any idea on when we are going to see it?

Aw. You don’t want to talk about the game? Why is that? Maybe because you feel the exact same way I do about the NFC Championship game? šŸ˜‰

I do feel your pain. It is going to take the entire off-season for me to recover and actually get excited about football again.

    Have a great week!

Michelle – no idea. Soon? Can I be more vague? And no, I don’t want to talk about football. I might be ready in time for the preseason.

I’m listening to An Unnecassary Woman now and like it quite a bit… am curious to see where it is going.

JoAnn – It deals with some difficult subject matter, but it is so beautifully written.

Ugh was Fury really bad? We were thinking of renting it. Maybe you saved us. I did see American Sniper last night, whoosh that’s rough. Looking forward to hearing about your new books and whether Emma Straub’s is fun. cheers!

Susan – it was really bad. Ugh. I want to see American Sniper, but know it will be difficult to watch.
